What a weekend for Tom Heindrichs and co-driver Jonas Schmitz! The Belgian duo delivered an outstanding performance at the Rallye Vosges Grand-Est, completely dominating the third round of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup “powered by GSe”.
Over the challenging asphalt stages in northern France, Tom and Jonas were the fastest crew on seven of the eight special stages, securing a commanding victory with a margin of 52.8 seconds over championship leader Alex “Sito” Español Jove and his co-driver Borja Odriozola.
This result marks Tom’s first win in the world’s first all-electric one-make rally series and a huge step forward after a challenging start to the season.
“A Perfect Weekend for Us”
At the finish in Gérardmer, Tom was visibly thrilled:
“After the season didn’t start quite the way we wanted, we’re even happier about this win,” said the 21-year-old Belgian, younger brother of World Rally Champion Thierry Neuville. “Winning seven out of eight stages shows that we’re moving in the right direction. Now the goal is to keep pushing and close the gap to Sito in the championship. The team and I are feeling confident — we’re ready for the next rounds!”
