The Title Fight Tightens Up: Third Consecutive Victory for Tom Heindrichs at Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine

Updated: 23 hours ago

Tom Heindrichs continues to be the man of the moment in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup “powered by GSe”.

With a dominant performance and his third straight victory at the Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine, the Belgian driver, together with co-driver Jonas Schmitz, has closed the gap to championship leader Alex “Sito” Español to just four points in the standings of the world’s first all-electric one-make rally series.

Commanding Performance in the French Alps

Right from the start, Tom and Jonas set the pace on the fast and demanding asphalt roads at the foot of Mont Blanc.

With four fastest times on the first six stages, the duo built a comfortable lead by the end of day one, a margin they defended confidently to the finish.

They ultimately claimed victory with a 26.8-second gap over Español and his co-driver Borja Odriozola. The Spanish crew, winners of the opening two rounds, managed to retain their overall lead, but their advantage over Heindrichs and Schmitz has now shrunk once again.

“A Fantastic Rally for Us”

At the finish, Tom was all smiles after another near-flawless weekend:

“It was a fantastic rally for us,” he said. “Apart from a small mistake in the Power Stage, everything went perfectly. It was our first time competing here, and everything was new to us, so we’re really pleased with how it went. We’ve managed to cut the gap to Alex from 23 down to just 4 points. We’re on a great run right now, and we want to keep it going!”
